Board of Trustees

Cooperatives are unique in that boards are elected by the members. They are local and may be your neighbors, co-workers, or friends. They are elected to represent the cooperative membership in which they serve. Supervisor terms are three years and elections are held at the yearly Lane-Scott Electric Annual Meeting. Lane-Scott Electric has nine Board of Trustee representatives.

Jennison is a lifelong resident of rural Healy in Lane county. He graduated from Healy High School and Kansas State University. Jennison and his wife, Diana, have three grown children. He is an active member in the United Methodist Church of Healy.

Ramsey is a lifelong resident of Scott county graduating from Scott Community High School, Colby Community College and Kansas State University. He is a past member of the Scott Cooperative Association Board. Ramsey and his wife, Gina, have two grown children.

Representing Ness & Rush Counties

Mr. Seib and his wife, Shelby, farm in rural Ness county where they raised six children. The Seib’s attend Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Ness City, Paul is a Knight of Columbus and served in the U.S. Military. He is the Lane Scott Electric representative to our power supplier, Sunflower Electric Power Corporation, where he is past chairman of the board. He is the past director and board chairman for High Plains Farm Credit Services in Ness City, and on various boards including Western Fuels and Western Power Producers.

Richard Sorem

Dick Sorem

Jetmore, KS
Representing Finney &
Hodgeman Counties

Richard "Dick" Sorem grew up on a dry land farm in northwest Hodgeman county, on which he currently farms with his wife, Linda. They have two grown daughters. Sorem went through the Jetmore school system and graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.  In 1982 Dick returned to farm with his father and took over the farm when his father retired in 1992.

Griffith graduated from Scott Community High School in 1986 and from Kansas State University with a degree in Business Administration-Finance in 1991. He and his wife, Suzanne, have four children and currently own and operates a farm and ranch in the area.

Evans was born and raised in western Kansas attending schools in Scott, Lane and Finney counties, later becoming an entreupenuer and independent business owner. He is married to Marla and they have three grown children and six grandchildren. He has served on the church board and Chamber of Commerce board.

Rush Counties

Hoss is a lifelong resident of Ness county having graduated from Ness City High School and Emporia State University. He and his wife Joyce have two grown children. He’s a past trustee of the Ness City High School Board and United Credit Union of Ness City and a member of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus, and Ransom VFW.

Doll a lifelong resident of Finney county having graduated from Garden City High School and Fort Hays University. He and his wife Shelly have three children. He is the owner/operator of Doll Land & Cattle, Inc., a former director for the Kansas Cattlemen’s Association and has previously served as a member of the Finney County Farm Bureau board.

Roehl graduated from Dighton High School and Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in agriculture. He and his wife Kathryn are lifelong residents of Lane county and have three grown sons. They farm in the surrounding area and is a past member of the Farmers Coop Elevator board.

Office Staff

Richard McLeon
Richard McLeon
Position: General Manager
Employee Since: 2019

Mr. McLeon has been part of the electric cooperative community for over 25 years, and has extensive experience in the operations, financial, and general management of distribution, transmission, and generation cooperative utilities.  He comes to Dighton from Henderson, Texas where he served as General Manager/CEO of Rusk County Electric Cooperative.

Mr. McLeon is a US Army veteran and served in the XVIII Airborne Corps, 24th Infantry (M) in Operation Desert Storm / Desert Shield.  He is a life member of the San Antonio Livestock Exposition and has been married for 30 years to Patty McLeon.  They have two sons attending Texas A&M University. Richard holds a Master of Business Administration from Sul Ross State University and a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University.  He has served cooperative members in project management and economic development roles as well as being a Chief Financial Officer, Assistant General Manager, and General Manager/CEO.

Position: Office and Finance Manager

Prior to working at Lane-Scott Kathy worked at the First State Bank of Healy. Kathy has two children; Jenna Davis and Lake Lewis, a son-in law; Jeremy Davis and granddaughter; Addison Davis. When Kathy was asked what members might be surprised to know about her, she said that she loves to sail! She had her own small sailboat named “Sail-la-vie” for several years. She loves being at the beach and has a wide variety of hobbies including swimming, reading, yoga, gardening, kayaking, hiking, making mosaics, holistic health care and essential oils!

Position: Engineering Coordinator

Nate is responsible for all metering, mapping, engineering services, line relocation and new builds. He has two daughters Megan who lives in Wichita and Brittany who lives in Salina. Nate’s interests outside of work are traveling, riding motorcycles, hunting, and fishing. When asked what he wished members knew about Lane-Scott he said, “That they are our member/owners, we work for them, and we have not and will not lose sight of that.” 

Carrie Borell

Position: Information Technology and Compliance
Employee Since: 2007

Carrie worked at the First National Bank in Dighton prior to Lane-Scott. She and her husband Kent also farm and ranch and have two children, Colton and Kayla. 

When asked what she wished our members knew about Lane-Scott, she said, “We are about family and community.  We represent service and safety to our members.”  Other than the cookies that are brought in on board meeting days her favorite part of working at Lane-Scott is the comradery and what we represent for our families and community.  Carrie likes the outdoors, reading, cross stitching, and crocheting.  If she could be anywhere in the world, it would be on her farm with her family and pets! 

Rebecca Campbell

Position: Billing Clerk
Employee Since: 2008

Rebecca wears many hats at Lane-Scott, responsible for billing of all consumer electric and resale accounts, delinquencies, accounts receivable, service contracts and service orders. Rebecca is married to Logan Campbell, who’s the area manager for Garden City Co-op.  She has four kids, Emily, Dirk, Isaac and Ian, loves to fly, spend time traveling with her family, photography, reading, music, re-decorating and even mowing. When asked what she wants our members to know about Lane-Scott she said,” Our linemen are an exceptional group of men.  They work hard to make sure everyone has power, whether it’s pouring rain, 100 degrees and windy, or blizzarding.”

Ann Marie Jennings

Position: Member Services
Employee Since: 2019

As member services, Ann Marie is primarily responsible for the communication, marketing, member related services and community activities. Prior to working at Lane-Scott Electric, Ann Marie worked as the District Manager at the Lane County Conservation District after returning back home to Dighton. Prior to that, at advertising firms in St. Louis and Denver. Ann Marie and her husband James, have two children, Cooper and Harper.

Diana Kuhlman
Diana Kuhlman
Position: Cashier
Employee Since: 2019

Diana’s position as cashier includes accounts payable, customer services, and human resource responsibilities. Diana previously worked at Lane County Feeders and the Security State Bank in Scott City. Diana is married to Russel Kuhlman and has two children, Kirsten and Ryan, and two grandchildren. Diana loves going to sporting events, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Electrician and HVAC Department

Kalo Mann

Position: Master Electrician
Employee Since: 1994

As an electrician at Lane-Scott, his work varies from any electrical work within a home, business or agriculture facility as well as lighting upgrades, yard lighting, underground line location, trenching, installation & repair, domestic well electrical, motor control & trouble shooting, grain handling systems and irrigation wells. He really is a master of all electrical trades. Prior to his employment at Lane-Scott, he worked with different electrical contractors in Kansas. Kalo likes hunting, fishing, competitive shooting sports, and cowboy mounted shooting. His favorite movie is Blazing Saddles. When asked what his favorite part of working at Lane-Scott is, he said, “Being able to identify and repair problems for our customers.”

Mark McCulloch

Position: HVAC Technician
Employee Since: 2009

Mark McCulloch, our HVAC Technician, is responsible for furnace, air conditioning, and water heater installation and repair, as well as seasonal checks and load calculations. Mark’s been with Lane-Scott for 10 years, having come from CMS Electric. Mark has two daughters Tristen and Cally, a son, Rob and 7 grandchildren! When he makes time for it, he enjoys woodworking and fishing. Mark’s seen a lot of interesting things while working at Lane-Scott, but one of the more memorable was having to cut apart a furnace vent to remove a bull snake at someone’s home! When asked what he most enjoys about working at Lane-Scott, he said, “My coworkers are excellent people to work with.”   

Michael Pollock

Michael is part of our Master Electrician duo team, who handle the electrician work off-the-line for Lane-Scott. Michael first began with Lane-Scott as a summer intern while completing the electrical program at Northwest Kansas Technical College in Goodland. He’s been serving Lane-Scott customers ever since! Michael is very enthusiastic about electricity and the service we provide to our customers. When asked what he likes about working at Lane-Scott, he said, “I enjoy my job, love learning more about electricity and how we can make it work for our customers.”

Kasey is a Journeyman Lineman and Crew Leader.  He acquired his lineman skills at Northwest Kansas Technical College in Goodland.  Kasey is married to Kelly and they have two children, Jack  and Jace. Kasey likes hunting and fishing and if he could be anywhere it would be in the mountains.

Ben is a Journeyman Lineman Crew Chief. He started as a part-time electrician at Lane-Scott in 1998. Ben is married to Tammy and they have a son, Brody.  Ben likes long range shooting, trapping hunting and fishing. If he could be anywhere, you’d find him in Alaska.

Myron Seib

Position: Crew Leader

Myron is one of our two journeyman linemen who work from the Ness City facility. He began his career with Acquila until 2007, then transitioned to Lane-Scott. When asked what he enjoys most about his job, he said being out in the different areas and working with the public.  Myron is married to Karen and has three daughters, two stepsons, two son-in-law’s, one daughter-in-law, and three grandbabies. He loves to hunt, fish, spend time with his grandkids, loved watching his kids play sports growing up and can’t wait until he can watch his grandkids play! He also enjoys raising livestock and working on his family farm. The advice he offers to Lane-Scott members is; “Live life to the fullest, love your family and the people closest to you and don’t hold grudges. Life is too short… you never know when a life changing event may come your way.”

Leighton Ayers

Position: Journeyman Lineman
Employee Since: 2008

Leighton, a Dighton native, was a lineman with High Line Services prior to working for Lane-Scott.  Leighton is married to Jazmine, who is a para professional at Dighton Elementary School.  They have a son Knox.  Leighton likes hunting, fishing, and spending time at the lake with family and friends.  His favorite movie is “Rudy” and his work nickname is Pud.  He’s not sure exactly how the nickname came about, just something that stuck when he began his career!

Kevin Bradstreet

Position: Journeyman Lineman
Employee Since: 2007

Kevin is married to Mindy Bradstreet who is the Branch Manager for S&T Telephone.  They have two children, Kierra and Kaden. Kevin enjoys spending time with his family and attending his kid’s events.  His hobbies are golf and woodworking, and if he could be anywhere in the world it would be on a golf course in the tropics.  When asked what his favorite part of working at Lane-Scott is, he said, “That every day is a new challenge and helping the people of our local communities.”

Dal Hawkinson

Position: Journeyman Lineman
Employee Since: 2004

Dal first worked for Lane-Scott the summer between his junior and senior years of high school and after graduation started the process to become a Journeyman Lineman. Dal is married to Hailey who teaches second grade at Dighton Elementary School.  They have two children, Paizley and Cruze.  He likes jeeping, camping, riding motorcycles, and working in his shop. The advice he would give to our members is to call in outages.  Don’t assume they’ve been reported by your neighbors.  In some instances, you might be the only one out of power.

Larry is one of our journeyman linemen who works from the Ness City facility.  Larry has been a lineman since 1980 years, having previously worked for Aquila prior to the Lane-Scott acquisition of Aquila.  Larry is married to Donna, and they have 4 kids, Tandy, Cheynelle, Matt & Skyler.  He loves to golf, golf, and golf! His nickname is LeRoy, given to him by his fellow golfers… though he’s not sure why!

Blake McVicker

Position: Journeyman Lineman

Employee Since: 2021

Blake joined the Lane-Scott crew in 2021 and hired as a fourth year Apprentice Lineman. He will be able to test for his Journeyman certification in 2022. Many of you might know Blake as a Ness county native, having grown-up in south west Ness county and graduating from Ness City High School in 2013. After graduation Blake immediately pursued his path to become a lineman. He attended the Rocky Mountain Lineman School in Colorado Springs, completing the fifteen-week Merchant program. He then spent the next four years gaining experience by contracting and traveling with Great Southwest Construction Inc., High Power Distribution, Renewable Energy Service, and BHI. He then went to work for Wheatland Electric Cooperative at their Garden City location before coming back to his home electric cooperative. 

Chad Rupp
Chad Rupp
Position: Journeyman Lineman
Employee Since: 2005

In addition to being a lineman, he's also the go-to mechanic for our fleet of vehicles. Prior to working at Lane-Scott he was an oil field electrician. Chad’s hobbies are hunting and fishing. He is also one of our Lane County volunteer firemen acting as the Assistant Fire Chief.  When asked what he wished our members knew about Lane-Scott, he said, "our service area is quite large covering seven counties, sometimes it takes time to get to you and to repair outages.”

Chris Terhune

Position: Journeyman Lineman
Employee Since: 2006

Chris is one of our journeyman lineman and also the safety coordinator. Prior working at Lane-Scott he worked at the Garden City Co-op. His hobbies are working on cars and wood building projects. Chris is married to Stephanie who’s the Lane County Clerk, and has a daughter, Mayci. He wants you to know that Lane-Scott Electric is committed to safely keeping your lights on!

Dellon Shelton
Dellon Shelton
Position: Apprentice Lineman
Employee Since: 2020

Dellon first  had an internship at Lane-Scott, and is now an Apprentice Lineman. As an apprentice, he us working no completing the Journeyman Lineman apprentice program to become a Journeyman Lineman. Shelton grew-up near the Lane-Scott service territory in Hodgeman county.  His hobbies include hunting and shooting. When asked what made him want to become a journeyman lineman he said, “I like working outside and wanted a career where I could help people.”

Dylan
Position: Apprentice Lineman
Employee Since: 2022

Dylan, a Ness City native, graduated from Ness City High School in 2020, then attended the lineman program at the Kansas City Metropolitan Community College. Dylan was hired as an Apprentice Lineman in November of 2022 and will work his way to complete the apprentice program to become a Journeyman Lineman. Like many western Kansans, he likes to hunt and fish, and especially like to dove hunt.

Scott Briand

Position: Warehouse Supervisor

Employee Since: 2021

Scott is responsible for purchasing, inventory, and warehouse management for the cooperative, and assumes the sales responsibilities for the retail department. Prior to working at Lane-Scott, he worked as the Assistant Manager at Sunrise Oil Field Supply. Scott is a Ransom native, and resides there with his wife Ashley and their three children.
